Why every answer is a place, not a country

· 1 min read

When you ask "where do red pandas live?", the honest answer is a long list of countries. That is a poor quiz question and a boring answer.

So every pin-drop question has one specific place as its answer: a national park, an island, a river, a reserve or a city. The place is never just the middle of a country. It is somewhere that has a real story to tell about that animal.

What you get after each guess

You see the true spot, how far away you were, and a short story of two to four sentences. The story is about the place and the animal together. It is the part we work hardest on.

What about small differences?

A place is a point, but animals live over big areas. That is why the full score starts at 50 km, not at zero. You do not need to hit the exact spot. Being in the right park or on the right coast is enough.

Every day stays online

Each day has its own page with the five questions, the answers and the stories, and it stays online for good. You can find recent days from the practice page, and every answer links to a facts page about the animal.
