Jiddat al-Harasis is a wide, stony desert plain in central Oman. Arabian oryx disappeared from the wild in the early 1970s because of hunting. Zoos bred them, and in 1982 oryx were released here again. Herds still live in the desert today.

Tortuguero National Park is a wet rainforest on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, cut by many canals and lagoons. Red-eyed tree frogs sleep on the undersides of leaves by day and hunt insects at night. The mothers lay eggs on leaves above the water, and when the tadpoles hatch they drop into the pool below.

Spinosaurus fossils were first found in Egypt in 1912, but those bones were lost in Munich during World War II. Many later finds come from the Kem Kem region near Erfoud in eastern Morocco. Spinosaurus had a long snout and probably hunted fish in the rivers that ran there about 95 million years ago.
